U.S. FIGURE SKATING ASPIRE PROGRAM
The Aspire program marks the transition from skater to figure skater and teaches athletes of all ages the skills they need to make the most out of their figure skating journey. From tips for practicing on your own to a repeatable off-ice warm-up, learning from the Aspire program will help you become the best skater you can be.
Pre Free Skate - Free Skate 2
Wednesdays
Each free skate level is comprised of a variety of progressive skating skills, transitions, spins, and jumps – all of which build on the previous skill, providing skaters a strong foundation of all elements. Free Skate 1 & 2 is combined class focusing on the skills found in Learn to Skate USA’s Free Skate 1 and Free Skate 2 levels.

Free Skate 3 - 6
Wednesdays
Each free skate level is comprised of a variety of progressive skating skills, transitions, spins, and jumps – all of which build on the previous skill, providing skaters a strong foundation of all elements. Free Skate 3 – 6 is combined class focusing on the skills found in Learn to Skate USA’s Free Skate 3 through Free Skate 6 levels.

EDGE CLASS
Wednesdays
Open to all ages. Learn better edge control and balance though a variety of movement. Focusing on proper body positions, inside edges, outside edges, glide and stability, dynamic turns, and power. Open to skaters in Basic 4 or equivalent and above. Hockey skaters looking to improve edge control are encouraged to join.
Spin CLASS
Wednesdays & Saturdays
Find Your Center!
Learn the art of spinning on ice! This class covers the fundamentals of balance, posture, and technique for various skating spins. Improve your coordination and grace in a fun and supportive environment.
- This is an advanced level class. Completion of all Basic 1-6 course classes or obtaining Skating Manager approval is required.
Jump CLASS

Ready to take your skating to new heights?
This dynamic class introduces the fundamental techniques of figure skating jumps. Whether you’re just starting to explore single jumps or looking to solidify your basics, this supportive environment will guide you through proper take-offs, air positions, and landings. We’ll focus on building a strong foundation in edge work, timing, and body control necessary for successful jumps.
- This is an advanced level class. Completion of all Basic 1-6 course classes or obtaining Skating Manager approval is required.
The Berger Foundation Iceplex is proud to be the home ice for The Desert Figure Skating Club. The mission of The Desert Figure Skating Club (TDFSC) is to support and develop amateur athletes for national and international figure skating competition. The Desert Figure Skating Club is a US Figure Skating sanctioned club, and club members receive all the benefits of US Figure Skating membership.
The Desert Figure Skating Club now also hosts its own Freestyle sessions at the Iceplex starting Aug 22, 2025. These sessions will also include drop-in workshops with the many wonderful club coaches.
