The Coachella Valley JR Firebirds hockey program emphasizes the fundamentals of skill development and execution, body conditioning, and a focus on team play and structure. Upon evaluation, players will be assigned to an appropriate team based on skill level and age.
Each team draws on the talent and experience of our top-level coaching staff. All coaches are USA Hockey certified, Safe Sport certified, Background certified, California Amateur Hockey Association certified (CAHA) and Southern California Amateur Hockey Association certified (SCAHA).
8U – ages 5-8; co-ed, girls
10U – ages 9-10; co-ed
12U – ages 11-12; co-ed
14U – ages 13-14; co-ed

Season runs September 2023 to March 2024.Â
SCAHA game play includes:
12-14 Jamborees (multiple teams at once) for 8U
20 games (10 home/10 away) for 10U, 12U and 14U
Breaks during Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.
2 Weekday practices
Weekend games at home and at rinks across southern California.
$25/player for the June 16, 2023, try-outs.
Season dues to be announced on June 16, 2023, after tryouts. Payment plans will be available. Some financial assistance will be available based on need and availability.
