Jeff Larson
A native of White Bear Lake, MN, Jeff, following a standout high school career, recruited by Herb Brooks/Brad Buetow, went on to the University of Minnesota on a four year scholarship. Following came two trips to the Frozen Four Championships, two WCHA Championship Titles and elected Captain his senior year.
In 1984 Jeff signed a free agent try-out contract with the Saint Louis Blues of the NHL. After a brief opportunity with the blues, Jeff went on to play senior A hockey with the Whalers our of Minneapolis, MN and won a USA Hockey Senior A National Championship in 1986.
Jeff maintains a strong relationship with the University of Minnesota and other top collegiate coaches, along with professional hockey agents/advisors.

Visiting coaches
All visiting coaches are asked to contact management 7 days prior to coming to the facility. All visiting coaches will need to fill out a Guest coach packet that includes: providing proof of liability insurance; USA Hockey membership; Safesport credentials; and Guest coaching agreement. After submitting the guest coaching packet the coach will be contacted by management with final approval instructions. We want to make sure you and your student(s) have a great experience when training at Berger Foundation Iceplex. Thank you for adhering to all Berger Foundation Iceplex policies and procedures. Coach requirements
- USA Hockey Membership
- Must be renewed annually
- USA Hockey Background Screening
- Must be renewed every two years
- SafeSport Training
- Must be renewed annually
- Concussion Training
- Must be completed once
- USA Hockey Age Specific Modules
- Required for all coaches for each age level
- Each individual’s module requirement(s) depend upon the level they are coaching
- USA Hockey Coaching Education Program (CEP)
- Required for all coaches
VOLUNTEER COACHES
Youth hockey couldn’t happen without the parents and community volunteers that help with all facets of the game. We have opportunities for volunteer coaches, team managers, score keepers, clock managers and penalty box managers. A great way to help out and build friendships and community that will last a lifetime.
