leslie deason
General Manager and Coach, Berger Foundation Iceplex.
Leslie Deason holds a Level VI Ranking and is a Triple Master Rated Coach with the Professional Skaters Associations. She is a Technical Specialist with US Figure Skating. Coach Leslie has coached multiple US and International skaters from grassroots to elite status at US Nationals and ISU competitions. Her skaters include Mexico, Philippian, Singapore, Japan and Thailand Champions. Her approach is giving the competitive skater the complete package in jump technique and moves in the field for solid skating skills and has been showcased at training clinics in Mexico, Germany, and the Philippians, along with Shattuck St. Mary’s Summer camp as the past program coordinator and resident coach. Leslie enjoys team coaching and her focuses are Jumps, Spins and Moves in the Field.

jeff crandell
Skating Director and Coach, Berger Foundation Iceplex.
Jeff Crandell is a Double USFS Gold Medalist and holds a Level VI Ranking and Registered Rating with the Professional Skating Association. Jeff is very excited to bring his 20 years of broad coaching experience to the Berger Foundation Iceplex. He enjoys coaching all levels of skating and guiding each athlete through their own personal skating journey. Jeff has coached Adult National Champions, coached skaters to the podium at the US National Championships, coached his athlete to a silver medal at the 2020 Youth Olympics in Switzerland, and coached skaters at numerous ISU competitions around the world as part of Team USA. Jeff is known for teaching excellent jump technique which helps build consistency and prevent recurring injuries. Jeff is available to teach Jumps, Spins, Moves in the Field, and Choreography.

janet cook
Business Operations Manager and Coach, Berger Foundation Iceplex.
Janet was a USFSA competitive skater that led to professional ice skating career spanning a decade. Janet performed both as a soloist and with the chorus in such shows as Holiday on Ice in Europe, America on Ice in Japan and a variety of shows throughout the United States. Janet has coached figure skaters of all ages from toddlers to adults and loves the opportunity to help each one find their moment to shine whether it’s for the competitor, performer or for those that just want to have fun and learn some skills.

Michael garren
An international skating star for 20 years, I am a trained dancer in ballet and jazz and have an extensive principal ice show performance background on stage and television, including featured performances with Ice Capades, Holiday On Ice, The Peggy Fleming Show, Ice Follies and Dorothy Hamill’s “Fantasy On Ice”.
My method of coaching and patient attention to basic skating skill details creates a solid foundation for continued advancement in the sport, for beginners through advanced skaters of all ages. With more than 25 years teaching experience, I am a member of the Professional Skaters Association and United States Figure Skating Association. I have 15 years’ experience teaching Learn to Skate programs for USFSA.
I specialize in instruction of freestyle jump and spin technique, choreography, presentation and style, and music selection and interpretation for competitive or recreational skating. I have off ice personal training experience teaching, strength, endurance, flexibility and dance.

victoria gorman
Victoria has 19 years of skating experience and 10 years of ballet training. She was trained by Hall of fame and Olympic team coach Frank Carroll along with Colleen Mickey national technical specialist, Yuri Kocherzhenko and Olympic coach Evelyn Kramer (the spin doctor). Victoria teaches jumps, spins, moves in the field, free skate test, choreography and beginner levels. Along with being member of USFSA and Professional Skaters Association. Victoria’s goal is the pass down the knowledge that her esteem coaches gave her to the next generation of skaters and become master rated like her coaches.

Gary Kemp is a United States Figure Skating double gold medalist and a professional skating association registered coach. Gary can teach basic skating skills, moves in the field, freestyle and choreography, ice dancing, pairs, and hockey power skating.

peter Kongkasem
Peter is a 2-time U.S. National Medalist, International Medalist and World Competitor. He has a Master Rating from the Professional Skaters Association and Double USFS Gold Medals, In addition, Peter has performed in professional ice shows around the world.
As a skating coach, Peter has taught skaters from beginner to World & Olympic level. Peter’s coaching style focuses on developing athletes with a solid technical foundation as well as strong skating skills. Peter enjoys coaching all skill levels, all ages and is available to teach Jumps, Spins, Choreography and Moves in the Field.

Walter stevenson
Walter’s career began in Cape Cod, MA and includes over 20 years of coaching experience in instructing skating school and private individual lessons. In addition, Walter has 6 years of professional show skating experience including chorus numbers, special acts and figure skating on stilts in shows such as Ice Follies, Holiday on Ice, Disney’s World on Ice and Ice Capades. He performed in shows with world-renowned skaters such as Dorothy Hamill, Janet Lynn, Randy Gardner, Tai Babilonia, Linda Fratianni, Scott Hamilton and Peggy Flemming. His knowledge and expertise comes from extensive training and instruction at Graphical user interface, application, The Falmouth FSC, John F Kennedy FSC, Cape Cod Coliseum, Hingham FSC, The Skating Club of Boston and The Lake Placid Olympic Center. Several of his students have medaled in competitions and his forte is competitive and exhibition choreography.

Visiting Coaches
All visiting coaches are asked to contact management 7 days prior to coming to the facility. All visiting coaches will need to fill out a Guest coach packet that includes: providing proof of liability insurance; USFS membership; Safesport credentials; and Guest coaching agreement. After submitting the guest coaching packet the coach will be contacted by management with final approval instructions.
